Life Update | July 2016

I don’t know how to start these posts because at this point I’m not talking to anyone yet. Hi no one! Hi people coming back to read this after I’ve finally promoted my blog! Anyway, I thought I would do a little life update post. From the outside, I feel like my life looks a bit crazy, I have so much going on and I’m so busy, when in reality I’ve spent the majority of the past few weeks sitting at home doing nothing.

Anyway, the main thing going on in my life is the fact that I’m moving states in less than a week. So, in my defense a lot of the time at home has consisted of packing some and throwing out most of my belongings. I mean, it’s the truth. Haven’t you read the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up? I haven’t, but I’m sure it’s something Marie Kondo would encourage. Back to the moving story, it’s truly the most complex thing ever and I don’t even know how many times I’ve tried to explain this to my friends, but I will try again: basically, we’re moving into our temporary apartment next week, staying for 2 weeks, and then coming back here so I can move into college (next thing). I call it moving, but my mom insists that it’s only a short trip and we’re not really moving until mid-August. Either way, I’m changing my bio on Instagram and Twitter next week mom.

You may have seen this one coming, but I am also starting my first year of college next month.  Yes, I am excited. Yes, I am sad to leave my family but I will thoroughly enjoy visiting beautiful Colorado on breaks. Yes, how funny that the roles are reversed that I’m sending my family off and I’m staying here for college. In all seriousness, it gets more real as it gets closer and the anticipation grows every day. I feel like I’ve just been sitting here waiting for my life to start for the past 2 months. Thinking about it, I know God is preparing my little introverted soul for the amount of new things and new people I’m going to encounter within the first week of moving in. We all need down time.

I’ve been very obsessed with productivity this month. I created a studyblr, which is a tumblr account dedicated to studying and productivity. I know it sounds so lame and boring, but these people are so organized and they make the prettiest notes I’ve ever seen! I recommend anyone who struggles with motivation like me to get one–it made me want to study, which is extremely rare. I had to find something to take notes on just for the purpose of taking pretty notes.

The other thing I’ve discovered this month are podcasts. I know I’m late to the party, but they are so intriguing to me–I don’t know where I’ve been! They are so great to listen to in the shower, or in the car, or doing things around the house. For some reason, I’ve been in a slump when it comes to music, but hearing someone talk about their opinions or current events or storytelling is such a perfect alternative! Since this is a new thing for me, I don’t really have any favorites, but there will definitely be a post about it once I get into the groove.

I think that’s it for what’s been happening in my life lately! Thanks for reading!
